editors

some editors I like to use: 1. Crimson Editor Lightweight, but has a definition file for CF stuff. And, you can add new tags to it. Very neat, very lightweight, and has FTP support built in. 2. Eclipse For integration of multiple tools. Major drawback: Obviously, Windows version lags because of java/Windows. Urgh. 3. *sigh* Dreamweaver, CS3 8 had goofy ftp issues (altho cs3 requires more resources. Arg again)

Walt, for whatever it is worth, I never find Eclipse to have issues under Windows. I have heard this a lot from people who never update their JVM or do not have Eclipse pointed to a current JVM, but if you set it up to use 1.6_[any] you shouldn't find it sluggish at all.

I'll give that a whirl, Dave. I just installed the latest and greatest version of java on this laptop.
Btw, found a guy who builds pcs and hackintoshes 'em up with dual booting. I'm VERY interested in this.

Keep in mind that Windows is a little goofy when it comes to that stuff (go figure). Just because you go to the command prompt and see 1.6 when you type ">java -version" it doesn't mean that is necessarily the one Eclipse will use if you have multiples. However, in the eclipse.ini, you can direct it which java bin to use. That is fool proof.

Re: hackintosh, I finally gave it up. I liked it in concept, but when something would go south it was very hard to fix. I went back to Ubuntu and wondered why the hell I ever ventured out. I love it and it only gets better with each release. I have been using 9.04 for a couple of months and I truly believe it is a better OS than OSX. Now if the application support would just catch up!
